Starting and Charging

I had to get a jump start from a friend…is my battery shot?

The age of your battery definitely will determine whether it has reached retirement age, but there are other factors that can cause your vehicle not to start. The battery posts and the connectors can become dirty preventing a good connection. The alternator, which charges your battery while the vehicle is operating, can be weak or bad. There could be a short in your vehicle electrical system which is draining your battery. At Bonfe’s we like to start simple. If your battery is not starting your vehicle, stop in and let us perform a battery test. That is the best place to start. If the battery tests good, we can then look at other possibilities.
