Do I need more than one estimate?
No, one estimate is all that is necessary from the shop of your choice.
How long does an estimate take?
Please allow 15 to 20 minutes depending on the extent of the damage or if you have a specialty vehicle.
May I take my car to the repair shop of my choice?
The Minnesota Fair Claims Act (LAW) states that you have the right to take your vehicle to the repair shop of your choice, the insurance company cannot sway that decision.
Do you offer any guarantees?
Our collision work is guaranteed for as long as you own your vehicle, however, there is no guarantee on rust repair.
How long will the repairs take?
That depends on the extent of damage. Insurance authorization, parts availability, and size of the repair all play a factor in the repair time. We will do our best to return your vehicle to pre-accident condition as quickly as possible.
Can you match any color?
Yes, at Bonfe’s our factory trained technicians regularly attend continuing education classes to maintain the skills required to match today’s exciting colors.
What is my paint warranty?
At Bonfe’s all of our repairs include a lifetime paint warranty.
Do parts that you are putting back on my vehicle come pre-painted?
From time to time, various auto manufacturers have unsuccessfully attempted to pre-paint parts. Variables such as car’s age, condition and minor inconsistency or “color shifts” from the automakers make this process impossible. We paint 99% of all painted parts being put back on your vehicle.
How soon can I wash my car?
You may wash your car immediately, however, we suggest a touch free car wash and wait at least 30 days to wax.

How often should my car have a tune-up?
Service schedules vary greatly depending on the vehicle. There are cars that require a tune-up every 30,000 miles, however, many vehicles recommend a tune-up after 100,000 miles. Contact us and we can let you know the service schedule for your vehicle.
How often should I change my oil?
There are many opinions regarding the frequency of oil changes. Our personal preference is to replace the oil every 3,000 miles if you use standard oil, or every 5,000 miles if you use synthetic oil. The reasoning behind this is that, although it may be higher quality oil you are putting in your vehicle, the oil filter is still collecting small metal particles. When debris builds up in the filter, it causes your engine to have lower oil pressure. An oil change is the least expensive, most effective maintenance you can do for your vehicle.
When driving, my car seems to "pull" to the right, what's wrong?
Typically, this is an indication that the alignment is off. This could be a result of wear to the steering and suspension parts or from uneven tire wear. The only way to know for sure is to bring your vehicle in for us to look at.
Do I really need my tires rotated?
Yes. Tire manufacturers require evidence that your tires have been rotated every 6,000 miles for warranty (there are a few exceptions). Tires are expensive and rotating your tires allows you to get the most life out of your investment.
How can I keep my vehicle performing at its absolute best?
Preventative maintenance is the best thing you can do for a vehicle. Today’s properly maintained vehicle can easily achieve mileages over 250,000 miles, as long as you’re not driving like it is a NASCAR race!
